Experiencing and facing mental health difficulties can make us feel alone and overwhelmed. That’s why I’m here to listen, to provide support, and to teach you strategies and skills towards taking control of your own mental health and well-being. Your hopes and goals will always be the central focus of our work together, and I aim to preserve an empathetic and safe space where you can feel open and free to work through difficult topics.
I have developed a passion for working with teens, although I also work with adults, children, and families. I have extensive experience working with those who seek to reduce anxiety, depression, and symptoms of OCD, and those who no longer want to use self-harm to cope. I am trained in and use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and work from a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. In my work with families, I often see those who hope to improve their communication with each other or are unsure of how to best support a family member with mental health difficulties.
I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I have worked in a variety of settings outside of private practice, including community mental health agencies, schools, residential treatment programs, day treatment programs, and outpatient hospital settings. These experiences have deepened my understanding of what individuals and families go through when seeking and participating in counselling and/or therapy. I appreciate that counselling/therapy is a unique journey for everyone who chooses to take it, and so I look forward to assisting you in finding your own path to improved mental health and wellness.
